Uncertainty before the after.

EX — ?
A candle was lit up.
In the crumbling world, many had seen a mysterious silhouette of black and blonde. There was a particular feature that distinguishes her from the others; her striking ruby and void black eyes.
The black was already stained, although, with swirling vessels of colors.
Oh, and her pristine white jacket that looked too upsized for her comfort. This is also an out-of-place characteristic of her not lost to anyone that had encountered her. Without any doubt, that was Hers.
She was not at all a threat to any of them. Instead of taunting them with sly words like Her, the girl would instead have a goal to achieve, and unlike Her too, it doesn't need anyone else to accomplish.
Was her eyes longingly gazing into the void told a single child of glass anything? It told them of an already drifted past. The void doesn't reflect her whispers and her sorrowful, loving eyes. As comforting as a mother's...
It's as if this girl was a complete opposite of Her. Their expectations were eyes that were as sharp, as witty as Her, but was instead met with eyes as gentle as kindness incarnate. Don't get anything wrong, her eyes don't deceive the sharpness and wisdom inside them as well.
She has a habit. Everytime, she always brings a daffodil in her hands, accompanied with a small and hopeful smile etched on her face. Only to throw it away at the resting place of where glass shards gather. Then she clasps her hands together. Not to pray, but to softly whisper a secret to them like they're her children.
Her kindness knows no bounds.
Nobody knows what her purpose is in this world, or what she had planned to bestow for this uncertain realm.
Every step she took by the edges of the void was blessed by light hues. Her lips formed a smile as she headed into unknown territories.
A light awaits her at the bottom of the abyss. It was as clear as water; only one path was destined for her.
Then, the candle was snuffed out.
Maya sat at the desk with a book opened, the constant whirring of magic filling the library’s silence. Sometimes, it's better to be careful than never, after all. She hummed a long lost tune, as she was finally content with her decision.
